Irish Weather
The weather in Ireland is mild, moist and changeable with frequent rain. Many
winters have little or no snow, some winters can have a cold spell with snow
lying for a week or two.

While the average winter high temperature is 8°C (47°F), on some days the
temperature may not get above 2°C or 3°C (35°F or 37°F). During the summer
months the temperature may rise well above the 19°C (67°F) average high
temperature, temperatures up to 25°C (77°F) are not unusual.
Rainfall is fairly evenly spread throughout the year.
The
east of Ireland
has between 750 and 1,000 mm (30 and 40 inches) of rainfall,
the number of days with some rain is about 150 days per year.
The west of Ireland has between 1,000 and 1,250 mm (40 and 50 inches) of
rainfall, the number of days with some rain is about 225 days per year.
Irish weather is great for rainbows, in Irish legend Leprechauns bury pots of gold at the end of the rainbow,
but since a rainbow can only be seen at a distance, the gold is forever illusive.
